Let’s keep in touch!

Small business life tips and takeaways are sent out regularly to my email BFFs. Become one of them!

  • While traveling is so restorative and refreshing, I certainly miss this girl and her sister! Two more days before I’m covered in golden hair again and snuggling my pups. 🐶🐶
  • Living our best lives in Seattle, with friends, passion fruit ginger beer, and days of game playing ahead. ✈️🏔🌲
  • My first girl turns 4️⃣ today. She’s been my sidekick for a lot of learning, growing, and laughter. Today calls for a peanut butter Kong and plenty of fetch.
  • It’s #powersheets day over here! I’m curled up with a cozy blanket and some sleeping pups, listing out ideas for what March could hold. One of my priorities? Carving out more time for friends.
.
That looks like 1️⃣ sending love mail, 2️⃣ catch-up calls that actually happen and aren’t just talked about, and 3️⃣ hosting visits and creating memories.
.
Small business owner life is busy, busy, busy, so l’ll be saying no a bit more in order to say yes to real life connections and friendships.
.
How do you love to connect with friends?
  • What does yoga, influencer marketing, and community building have in common? That Emily Steele is bringing new life to them in Des Moines.
.
This Flourish Friday is all about Emily and how she founded @popupyogadsm, @brand.launch, and @femcity_desmoines. I like to say that Emily is a cheerleader of women in business and a connector—of community members, businesses, and female entrepreneurs.

  • I sure do love this office buddy of mine, but I’m excited for a day of day camp for her and coffee shop working for me.
.
What does your Friday look like?
  • Happy Flourish Friday! Over on the blog you can now read up on Nora Crosthwaite and how she started her residential real estate business, Homes with Nora.
.
Nora is a connector. Ever since I had the joy of meeting her through @femcity_desmoines, I’ve witnessed how she connects people to the resources they need, the people they need to meet, or the homes they’ll love.

  • As I listened to Michelle Obama narrate her book, Becoming, this week via Audible, these words stopped me mid-chore.
.
By living for others, we can go down a path that's not meant for us. That's not the right fit, that feels unnatural.
.
Here's my reminder for you this Friday: Pause to think about what you're meant for and what next step feels right, then move forward with confidence. You've got this!
